A place to feel like
HOME
NESTLING IN THE BORDEAUX VINEYARD REGION, LA MAISON D’ESTOURNEL IS A COUNTRY HOME WHERE THE LIVING IS EASY. IT OFFERS AN EXPERIENCE ALL ITS OWN ENSURING A SIMPLE AND AUTHENTIC STAY IN THE HEART OF NATURE.
Vineyards, centuries-old grounds, informal yet attentive service, refined and relaxed interior design: this new property adjoining the Cos d’Estournel estate is dedicated to the joy of recharging one’s batteries in the countryside.
Most of them are located on the west side and overlook the imposing plane tree gracing the entrance courtyard. From some windows, one can admire the flowered roofs of the outbuildings and even the wisteria creeping across the stones weathered by the centuries. The dark oak plank floor and white walls create a serene atmosphere, an understated elegance that contrasts with a subtle mix of colors and refined fabrics.
In clear weather, one can glimpse the emblematic pagodas of Cos d’Estournel. The ceiling cornices recall the style typical of the bourgeois homes of historical wine estate owners. Even the shape of the shower units is inspired by the oak barrels used in wine cellars.
The beauty of the grounds and the vines can be seen in all its authenticity from this spacious second floor room. You can also see farway the famous Gironde estuary. The purity of the walls, punctuated by touches of burgundy and deep blue, the solid oak parquet flooring, the shimmering stylized floral embroideries adorning the curtains...
This suite offers two windows from which to admire the grounds and the vineyards stretching as far as the eye can see, from the second floor and even from the bed. The freestanding tub enables guests to make the most of the scenery while bathing. It backs on to the beautifully rounded shower unit, adorned with intense blue tiling.
The balcony lends a particularly charming touch to this extremely spacious room on the first floor. Right from the entrance, the deep colors of the headboard, velvet-covered seats and lamp echo the stylized and embroidered floral motifs of the curtains to create an ideal setting for Nature’s verdant, ever-changing tableau.
The first floor is the perfect place to play the owner of the estate, admiring the vineyards and even the pagodas of Cos d’Estournel from the charming colonnaded balcony. But Louis-Gaspard d’Estournel never had the privilege of choosing between a freestanding bathtub or a spacious shower area inspired by oak barrels, with its delicately rounded shape accentuated by a dainty mosaic motif.
A variety of different experiences to forget everything and fully savor a relaxed interlude that is all too rare in daily life.
A mere one-hour drive from Bordeaux, the Haut-Médoc region stretches languorously along the Gironde estuary amid verdant scenery featuring slopes planted with some of the world’s most famous vineyards.
